Did you know…

…that Spanish moss is neither Spanish, nor moss? Here in Savannah I was able to meet up with a friend from college, who happens to be a Marine Scientist (and thus knows all about Nature in general.)

Turns out, it’s actually from the same plant family as pineapple (weird), and it’s “Spanish” because it served as a sign to the English that they were entering Spanish territory back in the old days. Cool, huh?
