Just got home from my pre-Japan medical clearance appointment. It’s sad how full the hospital parking lot always is, no matter when I go. I’m guessing not everyone is in there for just an annual check-up…

Counting my blessings!

In a pleasant turn of events, two of my old co-workers from DC were in Columbus on business this week. As it turns out, one of Chuck’s old Marine friends from TBS was also newly in the area. Chuck and I met them out for dinner Downtown. I haven’t laughed so much in quite a while! Good reminiscing, dynamic conversation about what we’re all up to now, and jolly silly fun all ‘round. I left feeling refreshed and energized!
It’s always good to catch up with old friends, and it’s always fun to combine both Chuck’s and my worlds in one lively evening! I do rather miss that sometimes.

Annie sits at the corner of my nightstand and watches me every night before I go to bed, patiently waiting for her nightly brushing. Little thing is getting so spoiled. #cats

I am not generally a winter person, but here’s to a white Christmas when I go home to Virginia in a few weeks. I imagine I will come to miss cool weather and snow after 3 years in subtropical Japan!
It has been the slowest, most blah week ever. Chuck is sick, the weather is gray (and awkwardly hot and muggy) and my sleep schedule is all out of whack, so I’m simultaneously restless and lazy. It’s well into the first week of December, and I have yet to pull out the Christmas decorations to add some holiday cheer.
Hopefully it’s just a very temporary funk!! I need some zest and motivation.

Proof that I don’t solely eat Mac n’ Cheese and cupcakes for #dinner. #salmon #broccoli #healthy #nutrition #latergram #thishappensmoreoftenthanyouwouldthink (at Somewhere In Georgia)

Wiener #dog race and #puppy kissing booth! Best parts of last night’s hockey game 😊 (Yes, I paid for my kisses…)

Currently coveting the Lexus RX 350, either in Starfire Pearl or Satin Cashmere (would have to see in-person first), with a Parchment Leather Espresso Bird’s Eye Maple Luxury Package for the interior.
I don’t even care that much about cars, and I love my little roadster Scarlett, but I’m always unwittingly attracted to Lexi – unfortunately. They may be just a tad outside of my price range… 🙂
This is the first full week I’ve had in a while where I have nothing big coming up, and I’m not recovering from anything just past. The next several weeks should be like that, which is kind of nice. Here’s a small life update:
That’s pretty much it. My brain is feeling kind of warbled today (been battling a headache since 2 AM!) so I’m not even sure I’m making much sense. I can’t believe Thanksgiving is next week already – and Christmas is just about a month away! In some ways, time sure is flying…
