One of my medically-inclined friends came to visit this past weekend, and while we discussed my darling Annie’s chubs, she noted a very interesting possibility that I had never considered: did Annie maybe have kittens before?

The thought of Annie with kittens blew me away! I adopted her as an adult cat, and she was already spayed – so I never entertained the idea. But my friend said the way her tummy looked indicated she may have been pregnant at one point, and since I know nothing about her pre-adoption days, it is certainly possible! She may have been spayed later, or by the shelter.

Now, I just look at my little cublet with this new found awe. Thinking of her as a mama cat just melts my little heart!

First Day!

Today is my first at the new Chamber job, since yesterday I had to drive 2.5 hours northeast to attend my mandatory court hearing for that speeding ticket I got Labor Day weekend (DA reduced it for me with no points and no classes! Still had to pay out the wazoo though, 95% of which was in court fees – stupid government bureaucracy…!)

Anyway… the girl I’m replacing is still here technically, so there isn’t a ton for me to do yet. I did get to go to a ribbon cutting ceremony though. And attend meetings! More importantly, I’m filling out my tax and direct deposit forms so that I can actually make some money too 😉

I’m starting to feel like a real professional again!

I wonder how the poor Bean is doing at home though… all alone, all day long? The president here at the Chamber brings her old poodle with her to work every day, so I wonder if I can arrange some sort of similar deal with Annie?! Wouldn’t that be fun!! Miss her 😦

I should probably save this for Halloween, but considering she’ll likely be in hiding during the party we’re having, Instagram and Tumblr followers can get a sneak peek of my Bumble Bean!

My Annie has a thing for bags of baby carrots, it seems. Two nights in a row now she has licked, caressed, nuzzled, and cuddled with the bag (no interest in the carrots themselves, however.) She’s an odd little duck!

I just love the way Annie chirps goodnight before curling up in her usual spot right at my side, purring softly all the while. It’s so calming… So therapeutic. Great way to end a long day.

So, I’ve got a snuggly kitty on one side – cuddly hubby on the other. I’m one lucky girl! But I will say that Annie’s noises are nicer… 😉
